Day 3 Thursday 7.27.12 Lauren ran the 100m today and she did very well time was 11.79 she looked relaxed and confident.I was very proud of her. By no means is this battle won yet.The girls are so close it is anyone’s race.
today was the first time we got to rest in a few days it worked out great for getting a little a head of regular timing for dinner and catching up here:-) See all the results here

IG girls 4x800 National Champions YB Silver medalist 4x800 "Quiet Fire's Finest"
7.26.11 Day 2 All about the relays. Today our 4×800 relays stole the team show with 2 podium visits and lots of smiles. The weather was surprisingly nice for the first half of the day,but the last half…..well it is the Junior Olympics rarely is it cool and comfortable right.
Lauren ran the 200m today she was first in her heat and 2nd over all 24.46 . The competition here is amazing and these girls from around the country are really going for it. The YG standout top 3 are for sure are Lynna Irby and Kaylin Whitney.
Lauren was the silver medalist USATF JO’s to Lynna in 2010 and has never gone head to head with Kaylin. This week is going to be interesting for all the top spot girls because in most cases they rarely lose. One thing is for sure someone is going to lose but all are still winners and have by the end of this meet ran faster that almost any youth girls ever.
Highs and Lows
A big highlight for me was watching Victoria Plummer a BG earn a High Jump National title and Record and she was so happy you could feel the love in the stadium see results here . It was such a beautiful moment. There were sad times too watching an YW hurdler pull what looked to be a Hamstring injury slowly get up and walk slowly with help to finish the race. One of our Subbies was escorted to the check -in but some how he got distracted and never made it into a heat.His family was so upset. My heart went out to them because they traveled so far and he had such a great chance to medal.
In a decision all her own, to get into the Olympic Spirit Lauren decided to wear the team USA uniform today . It was a lot of fun to see her preform well in it.

As you can see this record is threatening to be broken this week. Lots going on here but mostly the heat and the lack of organization have the parents and coaches really upset. This school doesn’t seem to have the facilities to accommodate this large number of athletes and frankly they just didn’t adjust properly to the new number)this is the largest with over 8,000 athletes in attendance. at one point we were running over 3.5 hours behind. That was painful.
The volunteer’s continue to be very nice and trying their best to accommodate the spectators and athletes.
We celebrated Lauren’s B-Day to day also at Johnny Rockets and the kids had real good time.
Then the storm came…
