The basic veggie “Rocket Fuel Smoothie” with a slight twist has a wonderful amount of vitamins minerals and all the ingredients you want and need you youth athlete to have on board has he hits the track this Championship season. This recipe provides not only ingredients to provide a high level of energy but also wonderful anti oxidant properties that help to keep him well during a very stressful time of the season.
Ingredients
1 cup of coconut water , rice milk or almond milk your choice( I like them all)
1 cup Spinach
2 stalks of Celery
1 Apple sliced (remove seeds) adds somoothie texture
¼-½ inch fresh Ginger peeled
½ clove of garlic
2 tablespoons fresh or bottled aloe vera gel ( you won’t taste it one bit)
2 Ice cubes (optional)
Place all the ingredients into the blender starting off on low speed working up to the higher speed and continue to blend on high until completely blended together. You may want to chill in the freezer for about 10 minutes before serving. I realize the green color may turn off you and your athlete but you can place it in a travel cup and then your kid won’t know what’s in it just the good taste. The more you and your athlete drink the more they will get into the habit of healthy drinks and food choices as a life style.
