Sarah…The Queen Of Speed
Well we are winding down 2009 very fast but before we prepare for the 2010 Youth Track and Field season, I wanted to mention the top post of the season and some of my fav’s too! . Here are my first entires no particular order unless mentioned.
Beyond Fast
By far the most impressive showing in a youth sprinter this season has to be Bryce Love. The stadium took on a certain hush of expectancy when ever he was about to run during the USATF Junior Olympics. Not once was the crowd disappointed.Bryce ran to a rare to find 3 individual Gold medal National Championship finishes with only (I think) 4 other athletes in the nation accomplishing this amazing feat. Not only did he win all three events 100m 200m 400m he broke records in 2 of the 3 events . The records were previous held by one of if not the greatest Youth Track and Field athletes, Obe Moore of the Los Angeles Jets,Los Angeles California (more on Obe in an up coming post I will have to do a little more research but I believe Obe has held at least one national record at every age group divsion).
Congratulations to an Amazingly FAST Season

Got Speed?
Sarah’s Got Speed
I realize that this story was about an animal but i couldn’t resist the alure of this animals pure speed and power. I tease Lauren and tell her if you ever beat all your apponents you would still have Sarah, so don’t stop working hard.
Usain Bolt isn’t the only 100m World Record breaker recently. ”Sarah” The Cincinnati Zoo’s cheetah ambassador just beat the 2001 land-speed world record for mammals. Not only did she roll in at a smooth 6.13 but her time is more than 3 seconds faster the the world’s fastest human.

Who Wins…. The Sprinter Or The Middle Distance Runner?
This post was born out of several e-mails I recieved regarding the then up coming race between the 2 fastest bantam girls in the races of the 100m-1500m that’s a lot of races to own.. My daughter Lauren Williams 100m,200mand 400m and Daesha Rodgers. 400m,800m and 1500m. Although it wasn’t to be this season it will undoubtedly be some time in the future if not on a regular national basis and I believe it will be the must see race every time it is contested.
Stay tuned for more……
