Sarah’s Got Speed
Usain Bolt isn’t the only 100m World Record breaker recently. ”Sarah” The Cincinnati Zoo’s cheetah ambassador just beat the 2001 land-speed world record for mammals. Not only did she roll in at a smooth 6.13 but her time is more than 3 seconds faster the the world’s fastest human. It is safe to say that she hasn’t had much formal training since she has been in captivity most of her young life.
According to the zoo the cheetahs population has dropped off from a mildly healthy number of 100,000 in 1900 to a almost extinct 10,000. Speedy Sarah’s basking in her glory for now, but she has an eye out for her next rival, Zaza who will be giving her run for the title when the weather clears up later in October of this year. Stay tuned . Check out her record sprint below.
