Smiling Faces After A Long Day of AAU National Qualifying

One of my favorite radio pastors is Chuck Swindol. He has a special way of sharing important, timely thoughts. I thought about  one of my favortie quotes from him today after talking to Lauren about her upcoming big races and jumping  She said to me “Mom I am fine and ready, I am going to jump as far as the pro’s this weekend,  I know I can do good this season in the Long Jump”.My response is always okay if you say so : - )

The focus on the Long Jump comes from not winning a National Championship in this event yet. (She has a 4th place 2007 and a 7th place 2008 Copper AAU JO’s medal) She has yet to break into the top 3 spot. She really loves jumping so much she just has to “experience” it so she says. Her positive attitude tells me so much about her performances and drive. Attitiude really is the key to sucess. Lets see what happens In Greensbro….But First Regionals In Cerritos,CA

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

And so it is with you - we are in charge of our Attitudes!”

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.

It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.

It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.

It will make or break a company - a church - a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.

We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude!

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it.
