This is what a coach looks like after to many dumb questions. Yes there are some dumb questions.
You would think some things are just understood as you and your child participate in youth T&F. If you have been around oh I Don’t know …..5 seconds these questions should be painfully obvious NOT to ask but maybe not .
FIVE THINGS NOT, I repeat DO NOT Ask Your Coach
1. How Hot Will It Be This Weekend?
Coach is thinking “Oh I don’t know check with your local newscaster do I look like him???
Actually response..HOT and walks away.
2. What Time Does My Child Run? Coach is thinking: “What the heck I have 100 plus athletes out here, sometimes I can’t remember my own name let alone know the timing of a rolling schedule meet? Your guest is as good as mine. PLEEEEESSE.
Actual response ”I am not sure check the program”.
3. What Time Should I Get There? Coach is thinking ” Get out to the track the same time as me. Early very early”.
Actual response “No later than the start of the meet please preferably earlier for warm up and settle in time.”
4. Do We Have To Come To This Meet? I can’t even write what he is thinking here. What the Heck??
Actual response YES, that was the plan all week and your child practiced to prepare forthis meet.
5. Do I Have To Be There On Time? Coach is thinking” I am so glad I love kids, your kid ’cause you parents are working my last freaking nerve…of course you have to be there on time or risk missing the event..Duh..
Actual response Yes and he again just walks away
What is your favorite “Don’t Ask Question” Write it below in the comments can’t wait to read them.
Until Next time

As a kid my parent’s never were truthfully involved directley with me competing and i just wonder what serves the child better. My dad was a general contractor and he was way to busy to be there yet being from Jamiaca he say’s i inherited my ability from him. So he provided me with the necessary money or what not to be active. I sometimes see parent’s that put undue pressure on the kid’s and i’d like to know what u parents do to insure your not overly involved with your kids athletics? Or do you think there no such thing as being overly involved?
kerry
My parents were involved with my track experience but never as much as me and Henry. I think there can be to much.
I just don’t know what to much is.I believe.I will be able to tell or she wll tell me or some other interested party will tell me when it is to much. Sports are different today that when I was a child so what worked yesteryear may not apply today.
One of my favorite questions is “How long will we be there for?” And then the look on their face when you say “8-10 hours!”
