As in every sport we “Track People” have these litte sayings that just stick in our heads and come out while watching races on a Saturday afternoon. May be you have heard a few of these too!
My favorite ,
Don’t let anybody tell you,
you can’t, just because they can’t…
*The pride you gain is worth the pain
*The talent to be a great runner is a gift from God; untilizing that talent is a gift from you to yourself
*All it takes is all you’ve got
*Every runner has excuses, but a champion never uses them
*Only a runner doesn’t smile at the word fartlek
*Pain is temporary, pride is forever
*I play the game, I play it smart. My energy comes straight from the heart. I use my head, I use my feet. Don’t mess with me, I’m 100% athlete.
*A runner’s addiction is never sufficed
*There is no I in team, but there’s a U in suck! (I heard a kid tell another one of his friends that one)
*It’s rude to count people as you pass, outloud!
*We run ours off so we can kick yours
*Some people ask why I run so fast…well what do you do when you hear a gun?
*Obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal
*Never settle for less than your best
*It’s what you do when the coach isn’t around that makes you a champion
*To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift
* Real athletes run, others just play games
*Some people run a race to see who’s the fastest, I run to see who has the most guts.” – Pre
*”Champions are made when no one is watching.” – Aneurys Santos
*”Obstacles are the things we see when we take our eyes off our goals”
*Confidence is contagious- so is a lack of confidence.
*I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious.
*If you can accept losing, you can’t win.
*Success demands singleness of purpose.
