Mom and Lauren 2007 Knoxville Tennesesse
As I reported a few weeks back, Knoxville’s out Houston’s in….It’s all about the seats or lack of seating in this case. The city lost it’s 5 city rotation spot which was due to happen again in 2012 (the last time Knoxville hosted was 2007 at the Tom Black Track at the University of Tennessee. (Regular seating capacity 7500) This was our first AAU National meet. Lots of fun, but honestly just not enough room. Jam packed during most of the sprinting events no canopies or umbrellas allowed and the worst humidity I have ever experienced (except for Houston in the summer) Tennesse officials note that the economic impact of the AAU is close to 30 million.
Until Next time
