The Glide and Lock Champion Runners Shoe

GnL Running

A while back I tested a runners shoe for   Glide and Lock (GnL). You say “Who are they,I have never heard nor seen their product ? I have to admit me either. Let me tell you a little about the shoe.

The patented design as GnL states” A new generation of running shoes. The design is an advanced development of a revoiulutionary running sole. It has been developed with world class athletes,on every running surface and optimized under the most dynamic conditions.” The shoe by it’s unique design of the sole said to absorb some of the “shear force motion” of running, normally controlled by our muscles and joints:thereby, accelerating the recovery from training.  Read more about the science of this shoe.  That’s what the company says….Here’s what I say:

First, I was not compensated in any way for the test “run” on these shoes, now that that is out of the way. I really liked the shoes. I ran in them on grass and all weather track, walked in them, went to track meets in them. Up and down  stadium concrete stairsfor over 3 weeks.

The first thing I noticed is that while I was wearing them I felt very comfortable. By far one of the most comfortable running/walking shoes I have worn in a long time. I didn’t feel as if I had to remove them and throw them across the room as soon as I hit my front door. These running shoes are well-cushioned, great at shock absorption, and they’re also lightweight

When I went on longer runs I experienced a cushion like feeling that was very comforatble and almost a gilding sensation.Maybe that’s where the name came. My legs were not as tired and heavy.I wish I could have kept them longer to see how they would have impacted my regular work outs on the track as well as in the gym. Oh well, I guess I will have to buy them to really check them out. They don’t come in youth runners sizes right now, but if your youth runner is a 7 or above in women’s or men they can wear these shoes. Lauren tried them on and wanted to take a test run but her foot is not quite a 7 women’s yet (Thank God)

The cost of the shoe can give the average parent sticker shock..199.00   If I were a distance runner this cost may be worth the price for the long haul. For the average weekend warrior it may not fit the budget.

Here is what a distance runner has to say:

Monika Halter (10-15km/per week)

“Yesterday, I ran my first kilometers with GnL shoes. It was fantastic, awesome.
I didn’t feel pain in my knee when running downhill. To my astonishment I didn’t have muscle ache even though I added an additional round, and believe it or not I still had power. I can’t believe the positive impact of GnL.”

I really liked these shoes and they might me a good purchase even at 199.00 if they do for you what I experienced. I think the price could be accepted for the performance I believe they could give. For kids, just not sure. You make the call…..
