Rakim Coyle Throws Like He Means It….

I first meet this young man in early July at the UAGTCA Invitational    You couldn’t miss his dad.He had the brightest smile and beaming pride in the section we were in.That weekend Rakim set the sub-bantam 400 meter meet record and 6 lbs shot put meet record . Rakim was just warming up for bigger things to come at the AAU Junior Olympics.  He worked hard and became the 2008 Champion, with a  throw of 29′.75”. Although he didn’t get to the podium this year in the in the 400 meters, He  finished in a respectable 10th place with a time of 1:10.18 and determined to try again next year.  Rakim has a younger sister, Nadine the only 7 year old to make it to the podium at AAU Junior Olympics with an 8th place throw of 19′-4″.  I can just imagine what these two do at home for fun!!

Congratulations Rakim Coyle 2008 Primary Boy Shot Put

AAU National  Champion
