“Fastest” Sub -Bantam Boy AAU National Champion Jalen Nailor

August 10, 2008

Jalen Rasheed Nailor

There are so many great races it is always so difficult to say who is fastest. =According to most, the 100 meter race defines the fastest. Ask Tyson Gay…. Introducing the Fastest Sub-Bantam for 2008 Jalen Nailor.

When you meet Jalen you wonder just what is he thinking he is so quiet and polite. A little shy at times he appears more of the academic wiz than a track wiz. Well he is both. Jalen  Rasheed Nailor was born on March 2, 1999 in Lakewood, Ca. He shares his birthday with his his favorite football NFL running back Reggie Bush.

Reggie would be proud of Jalen on the field,on the track and in the class room as well. He is a straight “A” student and his third grade year he received the prestigous ” Student of the Year” of 2008. Almost since birth he has shown athletic talent. Walking at 6 months, amazing  his parents and by 4 her was playing baseball . At 7 because he was  finally able to play tackle football and play  and run he did. The Lancaster Jets were very happy. During his first 2 weeks of football the head coach gave him the nickname “SPEEDY“.

Speedy” he is. Most kids and parents in the Antelope Valley (Palmdale California) don”t know his name all they know is”Speedy”. In the  2 years of football they have gone undefeated and won 2
championships. They also won the National Championship in Las Vegas.

Speedy Puts It On The Track

He started running track at the age of 8 for the Palmdale Bullets, where he
was the fastest sub-bantam running a 14.0 in the 100m and a 29.5 in the 200m.
During the 2008 season he ran the fastest time for a 99′ bantam of 13.16  (PR) in the 100m and  his personal record  of 27.36 in the 200m.

Jalen ran a stunning 100m race to capture Gold
100m and although a stumble separated him from a double gold victory he ran an impressive 200m to take home a shiny silver medal as well.

Jalen received great coaching from four very special
coaches, Henry Williams(Quiet Fire), Eric McDaniel(Palmdale), Chris Faulkner

(SoCal Running Cougars), and of course his biggest fan and mentor ”Dad” Jay Nailor.

When Jalen isn’t playing football or running track he loves video games, having friends over to play and
looking  at and collecting fast cars toy cars.

Congratulations Jalen Nailor
