GOOD MORNING!!
I writing this morning,preparing myself for a drive north to the UAGTCA Invitational In Philadelphia,PA. Remember the post An Invitational You Won’t Want To Miss?
Yes, I am on the east coast this week, currently in Westminster MD. visiting family and working on TrackMom. Lauren will participate in the 100,200 and Long Jump over the next 3 days. It’s just after 6 am and I am preparing breakfast and getting my final papers and notes together so we can leave out of here about 7:30am.
This is the first time Henry has not traveled to a meet with us and I realize how important he is to the process. We miss him in all the little and big ways but we will make it all come together over the next 3 days. : )
I haven’t been on the east coast in over 5 years and this is Lauren’s first trip.She is awe struck by the trees and open space here in Westminster.Frankly so I am I. There are a few small trees on my street back home but these trees border on forest size here.
It is so beautiful this morning.The sun is coming through the kitchen diningroom and I can’t help but want to sit and just think. This property is over 4 acres and I just have no point of reference to a piece of property some one would live on this large.
The weather has been nice and yesterday I took Lauren to work out at a brand new middle school track just a mile down the road. It was cool and just slightly humid. It was a good change of paste doing what we usely do in another location. I caught up with great friends from college I haven’t seen in years Dr.Bill Booker Of Capitol Rehab Arlington Virgina and Calvin Jackson. I didn’t realize just how long it has been until saw and spoke to them. This is one more great think about Youth Track,you travel to places you might not go but your (almost) always glad you went .
Well the sun is up and I have to get moving here. We are both very excited about this weekend and it ‘s the first time Lauren will run since the USATF Regionals in June.She’s happy to be here ,but also reminds me she would like to come when she doesn’t have to run.I agree and it looks like we will be back sooner than later. We are having a great time with each other and our “girl bonding” and it feels like it’s going to be a great day. Matter of fact I am sure of it.
