Patrice Jones of Illinois Elite Says “This Is My NOW!”

TrackMom Monique Jones Of Illnois Elite sent me these great pictures and update of Patrice Jones and her wonderful 400m race this past weekend.On the final day of competition at the USATF Youth Nationals in Charlotte,Patrice was ready to run and run she did putting up a magnificent effort in the midget girls 400m final in a show stopping personal best of 58.91 and a silver medal. Congratulations! She also took home medals in the Long jump and 200m 6th place over all. Hard work does pay off.Patrice is poised and ready for AAU JUNIOR Olympics in,Detroit later this month .

She’s a good kid and many of the officials commented on her spirit to help out even when she was done with her own races. Mothers lets make sure that as we go into the JO season, that we talk with our athletes about sportsmanship and how important it is to give a little to help the events run smoothly for those that are volunteering their time.

Hey Track Mom! Just wanted to give you an update from AAU Region 6B championships. The Illinois Elites are burning up the track out here in Bloomington at Illinois State University. Our youth girls just ran the 4×100 with a time of .48.82! Patrice is the Region Champion in the MG Girls Long Jump and the 200m so far, we are hoping for a triple with the 400m on tomorrow. We also qualified in the Bantam Girls, Midget Boys, and Sub Midget Girls 800 dash, all gold! And My Patriq MADE IT in the Bantam Boys 200m dash!
Well that is it for me for now, another busy day at the track tomrrow.

Well, it is on the road to Detroit now. USATF and AAU Region Championships are done for us now. Patrice took 1st in the Midget Girls 200, 400, and Long Jump for the USATF Region 7 Championships. Patriq took silver in the Bantam Boys 100, 200, and gold in the 4×400 relay for USATF.
