**First Track Meet For Lauren
Track meet on Saturday was COLD….Well I guess compared to the east coast it was “Nice”.The wind kicked up then a few sprinkles came down for a few moments, being my first meet this season with Lauren participating, it was exciting to see how she would perform in her new division as a bantam with her new team members of “Quiet Fire“.
She did good for her first time out and I was proud of her because taking a second sometimes in the past would cause her a bit of grief, this time she said mom I did my best today, the wind hit me and I couldn’t move.Next time I will do better. She was smiling and had a great time with her new team members and her cousin who decided to run for “fun” with Lauren. Her cousin Miah is in the Midget Division and ran the 200,800 and also the the Javelin (My personal new favorite field event). So they both made an agreement to train hard this week and come back with a fury next Saturday.
I love seeing the kids have fun..this is the best reward for hard work next to a ribbon or a medal. They will remember fun much longer than a medal of any color at this age. Listen to what they talk about after the meet not the races as much as the level of fun.
